On December 13, 2025, Amadillo authors Ilene Haddad and Daniela Quirke held a joint book launch event at Kick Butt Coffee. In a packed house filled with the scents of coffee and authentic Austin vibes, MC and fellow Amadillo author Roanna Flowers (Rowan Floyd) led the Q&A and readings by the authors.
Friends and collaborators for years, Ilene and Daniela read each other’s work and bounce ideas off each other—a close creative relationship that made the event that much more special.
Haddad’s book I’ve Seen You Naked Over 8,000 Times: Marriage and Other Risks of a One-Night Stand is a memoir presented as a collection of essays and cartoons.
Quirke’s humorous sci-fi novel The Whole Enchilada tells the tale of a young woman’s eccentric journey of self-discovery with an alien hitchhiker for a sidekick.
