It all began when Ilene Markowitz met and then wed Bill Haddad. After realizing she'd married a cartoon character, Ilene (now Haddad) began sharing comics of conversations she had with her husband. This fodder eventually morphed into a series of essays and then into a book—this book. A little more Ricky and Lucy than Romeo and Juliet, the banter of this little offshoot of the United Nations makes for a comedic reflection on marriage and other long-term relationships.
